Retrophuture Neurotronik Tv

For the first time through videos, music and pictures, I am able to show my synaesthetic vision of life and world, representing together its soul and mine, synchronising heart, mind and eye. It is finally possible to project my dreams, experiences, fantasies, intuitions and fears on the screen of historical recordings of the world and of reality, as J. P. Sartre would say.

Honestly, I do not know if this can be called art in a traditional sense. It is an uncharted territory for me, where, on one hand, I am submitting the sum of all the artistic experiences I have left behind (painting, drawing, collage, installation, writing, music, graphics etc...). On the other hand I have abandoned the concept of art-making (and its present cuspicuous cynicism), as it is commonly understood in favor of a more synaesthetic and broad vision... a sort of neuronal television.

Thanks to the limitless archives available online, my vision resembles that of the aliens we see in the movies who have fallen to earth, absorbing the world and its history through a greedy, frantically accelerated viewing. This is something I have always been aiming at as an artist, which is now possible thanks to relatively simple and unexpencive software-This new technology makes possible both a meticulous visual “craftsmanship” and the assembly of electronic music, which perfectly fits to the images and fully reflects my mental soundscapes.

I am presently working on two channels: the first is the Retrophuture Neurotronik TV project, which explores the extensive vintage media “storeouse” of modernity and of the avant-garde of the first half of the 1900s. My intention is also to combine this approach with new impressions of an accelerated present.

The second channel is Shamanic TV, a project of visionary, nearly lysergic, videos and music. Assembled as ecstatic visions, they almost “sample“ Jungian archetypal images and the kind of effects described in the reports of Eastern and Western mystics, that the philosopher and researcher Elémire Zolla reported in his essays.

Per la prima volta, attraverso video, musica e immagini, sono in grado di mostrare la mia visione sinestetica della vita e del mondo, rappresentare la sua anima e la mia insieme, sincronizzando cuore, mente e occhio. Proiettare i miei sogni, esperienze, fantasie, intuizioni, paure, sullo schermo delle registrazioni storiche del mondo e della realtà, come direbbe J. P. Sartre.

Onestamente, non so se questo può essere chiamato arte in senso tradizionale, per me si tratta di un territorio inesplorato, in cui, da un lato sto usando la somma di tutte le esperienze artistiche che mi sono lasciato alle spalle (pittura, disegno, collage, installazione, scrittura, musica, video, computer graphics ecc.), e dall’altra ho abbandonato il concetto di fare arte come viene comunemente inteso (e il suo attuale cospicuo cinismo) in favore di una visione più ampia e sinestetica. Una sorta di televisione neuronale.

Grazie agli sterminati archivi disponibili on-line, la mia visione è diventata simile a quella degli alieni caduti sulla terra che vediamo nei film, che assorbono il mondo e la sua storia attraverso uno sguardo  avido, freneticamente accelerato. Qualcosa che ho sempre cercato come artista, e che ora è possibile grazie a software relativamente semplici e poco costosi, che permettono sia un meticoloso “artigianato” di cut- up visivo, sia l’assemblaggio di musica elettronica, perfettamente adatta alle immagini, che riflette completamente i miei paesaggi sonori mentali.

Al momento due sono i canali su cui sto lavorando. Il primo è il progetto Retrophuture Neurotronik TV, che esplora lo sterminato magazzino mediale della modernità “vintage” e delle avanguardie della prima metà del secolo scorso, combinata con le nuove impressioni di questo presente accelerato.

L’altro è Shamanic TV, un progetto di video e musica visionari, quasi lisergici, assemblati come visioni estatiche, “campionando“ immagini archetipiche junghiane e il tipo di effetti descritti nelle relazioni dei mistici orientali e occidentali, come suggerito dagli ultimi saggi di Elémire Zolla
